Good Morning Gators!
Last Monday was the day after Mothers Day. OMG didn’t open until 8. Unfortunately I was there at 6 which is the time posted on the website and on the door. As it turns out they opened late because they had over 400 people for Mothers Day and they needed a break.
We waited till 6:30 then gave up. I Yelped another place and took off. The place wasn’t that great and I didn’t review it.
Back on Friday for another visit. 6am on the dot. A booth by the window and off we go

Greeted Warmly by Mary the owner. She sat down in the booth next to me and we learned about her humble beginnings to the present day. An incredible story told over great coffee. She needs a good ghost writer if you know one.
The place is cute with a hip 70’s vibe. Clean and Carpet free. The music is 60’s 70’s and 80’s classic rock. Love me some Foreigner.

The most excellent server Samantha brings more coffee which comes from True Brew a locally sourced product which as Mary informed us is an attribute of much of the food that they serve.
They also have a wide variety of fine loose teas.

The Menu is pretty short 10 There are several super interesting choices. They have Dim Sum of the day on the menu. I must have this Mary. Nope, It was stricken do to lack of interest. UGH! Oh well next choice.
Banger Benedict
We proudly serve locally-sourced Bangers. Enjoy our Bangers and potato pancakes served with an onion ale gravy
I made the assumption that this would be served with eggs. Nope.
On the table is an unusual surprise. A salt and Pepper Mill! WHAT?! (See my salt and pepper rant on the rant page)

The Caramelized Onions were savory salty and delicious 8 The Sausage was seasoned perfectly and stood up to the onions. 8 The potato pancakes were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They rank up there with some of the best that Iv’e had. 8 This was a good start. 8
This entree was my choice. I asked Mary what I should order next. Grits with extra cheese and Shrimp. Bring It.

Extra Cheese Grits with Shrimp
The Grits were a tad under which gave them a touch of texture. They were super creamy and the cheese made them a bit salty. They were delicious. Some of the best I’ve had The shrimp were a little over. This was a great second course 9
On a side note I saw the Chef tasting something in the kitchen. A good sign

Chef Surprise
I was able to get something from the upcoming menu revision how exciting!
Barbecue Chicken Tacos
House made Guacamole and Slaw
The Thigh meat (my favorite) was slightly spicy salty and Barbecuie. 9 Good Guacamole 8 Slaw 7 Tortilla was soft and pliable. This surprise was an overall 8 Keep the rating in mind that Tacos are not generally something that I order for breakfast.

Sweet Side
Brioche French Toast
Served with our house made bourbon hard sauce & berry drizzle
Before you read the result read my French Toast Rant on the Rant Page. (Unless of course you are familiar with my rant already)
This was a delicious 8 in spite of the fact that it wasn’t properly custardy French Toast. With a longer soak it could have been an easy 9

Cookies!
Cookies appeared. well actually I think Debra the very friendly Front Of The House Manager brought them. These are still in the experimental phase. 2 kinds. Chocolate Chip and a Snickerdoodle esq The Chocolate Chip was excellent and I’m not even a major plain chocolate chip cookie fan. 9 The Doodle was just OK 6

I was mentally wrapping up the visit then it occurred to me that Mary was very proud of the House Made Corned beef Hash. I asked Debra if I could just taste it. She was happy to oblige. She returned with a medium size plate of Hash and Spuds.
It was worth the ask. It was one of the better hashes that I’ve had. Notice a pattern? Seasoned nicely salted nicely Crisp tender delicious and not ground to a paste. 8 Now I’m DONE!

This is the first time that I’ve ever reviewed a place and didn’t have a single Egg
OK Gators that’s it for this visit. It was a good one. I don’t get a lot of good suburban places. Great Food Great Service. Put OMG on your list. Your’e welcome.
