OMG is very cute. It has a style that defies description. it’s sort of 1970’s dark woodish. It is completely devoid of chicken related items   10   Clean neat carpet free. 60’s 70’s easy rock music   9

Yep. Mary wasn’t kidding. There are a lot of new choices. OMG is not your Local Bacon and Eggs Joint. If you want basics go to Mr Allison’s in Arlington Heights. (Get the HAM!) But I digress.

Mary starts the show with Creamsicle Cupcakes! Thanks Mary how sweet! (pun intended)  Delicious Dreamy and Creamy   8   A great start. OH and Coffee   8

My first choice was easy.

Scallops Eggs Benedict

grit cakes, two poached eggs, arugula, sauce maltaise

I love Scallops so this was a natural choice. The Grit Cake was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside.Could have used a touch of salt   8   Eggy Citrusy goodness  8   The Scallops were over but had a proper sear   7   The Eggs were under   6    Overall a good choice   8

DIM SUM

A source of contention between the Chefs and Mary. Mary is For and the Chefs against. When someone orders it they make Mary cook it. I ordered it. She cooked it.

Fluffy and Puffy with a good pork filling. They could use a bit more filling.   A tasty   8

Breakfast Shepherd’s Pie

Irish breakfast sausage, Irish bacon, corned beef, smashed OMG! Potatoes, gouda, cheddar, onion gravy & scrambled egg

Well in spite of the fact that I don’t really like anyones scrambled eggs but mine this was a pretty tasty combo   8   Potatoes Bacon Cheese Sausage Corned Beef. This is something that you eat when it’s zero out and there is 2 feet of snow on the ground.

It’s pretty it’s basic it’s tasty.  Bacony Eggy Hollandaisy The Eggs were under but how can you not love this?   9

What’s for Sweets Sami? I asked. Banana Bread French Toast says she. Bad idea me thinks but she is persistent. I tell her that I have been chasing the Banana Bread French Toast Unicorn for a long time. She is un bending. OK bring it on. So she Did. Take a break from this lengthy review and take a look at the rant page to familiarize yourself with my stance on French Toast. Bottom line is that the Banana bread is delish but it wasn’t French Toast. It was grilled Banana Bread.   Good non FT BB   8   You win again Unicorn.

I thought that was it but what would appear? One more dish. The Chef decided to show off a special signature dish that is not on the menu

Corn Bread Chorizo Scrambled Eggs and Guacamole

All of the elements of this dish were good. I feel like it needed something like a Mole Sauce or something to tie it together. It was an   8   With some tweaking this has a 9 possibilities
